Description

Join this Wellness Wednesday group to discuss the different ways you can improve your physical, mental, and social well-being.

This week’s topic: Warm-Ups and Cooldowns for Golf, Pickleball, and More!

Taking the time to warm up before and cool down after any physical exercise can help prevent muscle soreness and injury, as well as enhance overall performance. The most common reason for not warming up or cooling down is that there isn’t enough time. 2023 Senior Planet Sponsored Athlete Kathy Molloy is here to show you warm-up and cooldown exercises that take just 5 minutes or less!

In this session, Kathy will share her story and then lead warm-up and cooldown movements including:

  • For golf: hip openers, cross body arm movements, modified golf swings
  • For pickleball: basic cardio, dynamic arm circles, side-to-side lunges

(You don’t need to play a sport to benefit from this session!)

Kathy, age 73, considered herself to be in good physical condition for most of her life. But after receiving some shocking health news in her late 50s, Kathy kickstarted a new phase of fitness that has made her stronger, healthier, and happier than ever before. Through her participation in CrossFit, Kathy has stopped her progression of osteoporosis, and is no longer at risk for fracture in my lower spine. Today she enjoys sports like golf and pickleball, and is ready to pass on her best warm-up and cooldown tips for fellow players!
