WATCH: Mapping a Way Home

Saroo Munshi Khan was at the Calcutta train station with his family at age five when he wandered off – then woke up hours later in an empty train car, somewhere else in India. He was eventually adopted by an Australian family. Twenty-six year later, he found his way home using his computer.

It’s rare that a promotional video seems worthy of being video of the week, but this one has a lot to offer: it’s a moving story; and an amazing look at how we can use Google Earth and Google Maps to look at our own pasts – or even to map our futures.
