Senior Planet at the Malone Adult Center
Senior Planet Tech Spot at the Malone Adult Center offers a range of free 5- and 10-week technology courses that require advance registration, as well as bi-weekly tech help. For courses and events at Senior Planet Exploration Center in Champlain Centre, click here.
Register for the winter quarter on January 8th and 9th from 10am – 2:00pm at the Malone Adult Center. You must register in person. Classes will fill on a first-come, first-serve basis; if you are placed on a waitlist, you will be notified of open seats in the first two weeks of the course. The fall quarter will run from January 14th – March 22nd

The Malone Adult Center is open 9am – 4pm, Monday – Friday. Senior Planet staff will be present during course sessions and every other Friday for Tech Help.

Winter Quarter Courses
Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:30 – 11:45am
Get an introduction to the popular Apple tablet. With hands-on support, you’ll learn the basics of the iPad and how to use it to browse the web, use email, download apps, watch video, take pictures, connect online and more.
Note: iPads will be provided for use.
Computer experience prerequisite: This is a course that is appropriate for absolute beginners.
Mondays & Wednesdays, 1:00 – 2:15pm
This ten-week course will explore how technology impacts society and our interactions with one another. You’ll learn to use popular social networking sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. If you’re interested in how technology is changing how we read the news, manage our health information, meet other people, and find entertainment, then this course is for you. This course is best suited for those who have basic knowledge of the iPad and an email address.
Computer experience prerequisite: Participants will have an email address and basic familiarity with the iPad (meaning you are comfortable using a touchscreen and virtual keyboard to do web searches and operate an email account.)
Mondays & Wednesdays, 2:30 – 3:45pm
Learn about smart financial habits, introduce yourself to online resources, develop skills to help manage your money, reduce spending, and help identify income opportunities outside the traditional workforce. By the end of this course, participants will have the know-how to maximize their incomes, make a budget, do online price comparison, and leverage online resources to save money and earn extra income.
Computer experience prerequisite: Participants should have an email address that they use. They should also be comfortable navigating websites and searching for information on the Internet.
Membership and access to our classes, workshops and special events is offered free of charge. However, as a nonprofit, we happily accept donations.
