I was able to finish this month’s book, but will not be able to attend the book discussion – I’m bummed. I did enjoy this book, and found the character development to be so interesting. I would have loved to discuss why Nadia was so unable to express herself and how she lived a life of half truths. Her world was so shaded in grey, she obviously was smart and talented, why did she skirt on the edges of a real life? The ending was unsettling too, and it left me with a vision of Nadia perpetually driving around in her dad’s truck. I loved Britt Bennett’s other hot book, The Vanishing Half too. This author can tell a story, that is for sure.. Have fun at the meeting!
What is the next book? I wanted to read Mothers, but was unable to get in time for these meetings.
I would like to put my name on the Book Club List. Please let me know the next book .
