I found the section Roots revealing, surprising, and inspiring. I was unaware of the personal setbacks Harriet Tubman had to endure. And yet she persisted. I never thought of Harriet Beecher Stowe as a hero, what an interesting thought. The inclusion of a discussion about Chinese racism was an important reminder of how long we have been fighting for fair treatment for all and how wide the tentacles of racism stretch.
