The votes have been counted and we are pleased to announce that our next online Book Club offering is…..
Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala
For week one of our book club, please read chapters 1-10 by Tuesday, February 1st.
Then come back to https://seniorplanet.org/articles/online-book-club/ and we will open a conversation in the comments so everyone can discuss what we read.
We’ll meet over Zoom to discuss the full book the week of February 21st. More details to come!
Here is how you can obtain a copy of Arsenic and Adobo

Everything is a gangster until the book arrives.
I am very much enjoying this book. It is always fun to learn about different cultures and customs. This has been a good one for me as I have a “cousin in law” that is Filipino and this book resonates on my experiences meeting his family. It is also a good read, quick and fun.
Love to hear this, Liz. Looking forward to seeing you at our zoom discussion at the end of the month.
Is there a book club meeting after reading chapters 1-10, or is there only one BC meeting when the entire book has been read?
My first time joining. Message wasn’t clear.
Best,
LTK
Hi Lydia,
We will be meeting to discuss the book February 17th at 4:30PM over Zoom. I am about to post another article that should hopefully clarify this. Generally it’s 1 article with the poll to pick the book, 2 with reading prompts and 1 that tells you to finish the book and join us later that week on zoom.
I found two internet sources where you can download, for free, this month’s book pick, Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P Manansala, if your library system does not carry the book. No registrations needed to download either format and links are below:
