  1. I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I have. I am learning so much about the how the political situations evolved in Spain and South America pre/post WWII while becoming so connected to well-developed characters that the author has revealed in this story.
I can’t wait to discuss this book with others.

    1. I totally agree with Rebecca. I did not expect to becoming so involved in this
book to the point I read late into the night. I knew of this author, but had not
actually read her work. I will now find more titles by her when I finish this one.
Discussing with others will further expand my understanding.
Thanks to all who voted for this title. I did not, but was really encouraged by the comments from people on the Morning Stretch group who follow Rama Cas every morning in stretches. It is great to keep the communication going.
Thanks to Senior Planet for this opportunity.

      1. As stated by others, I did not expect to be drawn into the politics of Spain. I am also developing a better understanding of Neruda’s poetry. I hope I can finish this book in time for the discussion.
