From time to time, Senior Planet receives requests from casting agencies looking for help in finding senior subjects for film and television, as well as other requests for seniors to get involved in projects of various kinds. In our new occasional Bulletin Board feature, we’ll pass along any that look worth following up.
Casting Your Photos
Senior Planet has become a go-to for NYC-based casting agency Strickman Ripps, but this time the agents are not looking for senior to star — they’re looking for real holiday photos and videos from a variety of families. (Think Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and other seasonal celebrations.) The selected still and moving images will be featured in an advertising campaign, and the photographers will be compensated.
If you have digital photos and/or videos that show how your family comes together to make the holidays special, send your image or video file to Strickman Ripps as soon as possible along with the information below. Someone from the agency will contact you if your photography is chosen.
Send the following via email to [email protected] ASAP!
- Name of the person who took the photo or shot the video
- Your phone number
- A brief story explaining your image or footage
- The photo/video file as a downloadable attachment
Casting NYC-area Seniors for a Commercial
Canon and the company’s ad agency are looking for a senior to be featured in an upcoming online advertisement. The participant will be paid for their time.
The ad is about products that can be useful for bringing family together, and Canon would like to find a NYC metro-area resident between the ages of 75 and 100 who has an upcoming family event — think anniversary or birthday party — that they wish to document.
If selected, you would be filmed in your home while a Canon support person teaches you how to use Canon products to create a presentation for your upcoming family event.
During the selection process, the producer will visit the homes of candidates on the shortlist to decide who is the best fit for the ad.
The ad will be filmed on December 2 and 3.
If you are in the age range, live in the metro area, have an event coming up and want to learn how to use Canon products, send a brief bio and a picture to [email protected] Questions? You can give Ed a call at 212-546-1459.
