Senior Planet News

Join Us for Our Membership Drive and More!

This February, Senior Planet is running our first-ever Membership Drive! With member-focused events taking place this month at Senior Planet locations across the country, we’re inviting you to connect, defy stereotypes, and plug into the movement to change how the world views aging.

All month long, we’ll be highlighting membership benefits and offering information at partner locations to highlight how membership helps you get the most out of your Senior Planet experience.

As part of the Membership Drive, we are also thrilled to announce a special Senior Planet exclusive: Just in time for Valentine’s Day, you can tune into a free livestreamed talk from our very own sexpert Joan Price on February 11th, 7pm EST! Join us to hear award-winning author Joan Price debunk the top 7 myths about senior sex and offer practical tips for enriching your sexual pleasure, whatever your age. You can watch by attending one of our viewing parties in New York City, North Country, Montgomery County, Palo Alto, Denver or San Antonio. If you don’t live in any of those areas, you can watch from home by clicking this link at 7pm EST.

Although all older adults are welcome to participate in Senior Planet programming, membership can help you engage with Senior Planet even more deeply. Becoming a member of Senior Planet gives you access to these additional benefits:

  • Belong: Being a Senior Planet member connects you to a community of other savvy, fearless older adults who are using technology to pursue their dreams and inspire others.

  • Inside Glimpses: Senior Planet members receive free quarterly impact reports, packed with data on how our programs are making tangible differences in the lives of seniors everywhere.

  • Feel Good: Membership costs as much as you want or are able to give, from a penny on up. You can feel confident that whatever you’re able to contribute helps Senior Planet continue to offer the highest quality technology programming available for older adults.

  • Special Invites: Free special events take place year-round across the country at our six Senior Planet locations, bringing like-minded seniors together to socialize and learn about cutting-edge topics of interest.

  • Plus: the opportunity to participate in 800+ free courses, workshops, lectures and gatherings that can transform your health, social life, financial wellbeing, and more.

  • Learn more about the details of what membership includes HERE.

Interested in learning more? Here are the only requirements for becoming a member.

  • Be 60 years of age or older

  • Make an annual donation to OATS of any amount. There is no minimum amount—really! Donate what you feel good about giving.

  • Participate in at least one volunteer activity per year. This could include helping staff an event, writing a representative, phone banking or performing community outreach. Any way you want to contribute works. You can drop us a line at the contact info below to suggest a way you might like to volunteer.

Remember, at all of our locations and partner sites, you don’t need to be a member to take Senior Planet courses or attend workshops or lectures!

If membership isn’t for you right now, you are still warmly invited to participate in Senior Planet programs. All Senior Planet classes (excluding those at our @Avenidas location), lectures, and workshops will remain free and open to the public. You don’t need to be a member to partake in any of these offerings!

But if you are interested in getting more out of Senior Planet while also giving back, then membership is for you.
