North Country seniors will get help accessing the internet this fall

A lot of seniors in the North Country still don’t get how to use the internet. A group called Older Adults Technology Services, or OATS, has funding from New York State to help those seniors. They train people in the basics, like sending emails or even just clicking a mouse. This fall, they’re opening a new learning center in Plattsburgh.

A lot of people who Older Adults Technology Services works with thought the internet was just a phase. And they were just going to wait it out. But people talk about it constantly. They see these advertisements for websites, ‘WWW’ whatever. They’ve always wondered what all that stuff meant,” said Tom Kamber, Executive Director of OATS. Read more
