New NNY initiative aims to show seniors value of broadband Internet access

 Many senior citizens in the north country don’t see the value of paying for broadband Internet access — a trend that a new program will aim to change by showing them how the Web can improve their quality of life.

Teaching seniors how to do their banking, send email and enroll for health care programs on the Web are among the goals of the multipart initiative launched by Older Adults Technology Services, a New York City-based nonprofit. The program will try to improve broadband Internet adoption among residents 60 and older across Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Essex, Clinton and Hamilton counties. Read more
