Senior Planet in NYC: Center Closure and Reopening Plans

Have you heard the news? We’re opening a brand new Senior Planet center here in NYC! If you were a frequent visitor at our former center on 25th Street, you’ll be glad to know that we’re moving just five blocks over to W 30th Street.

Due to construction, the opening of the new center is currently delayed. Our lease at the center on 25th Street has now ended, and the Senior Planet center at 127 W 25th is CLOSED.

While our in-person programming will look different this spring, there are still plenty of ways for you to stay connected to the Senior Planet community and continue participating in the classes you know and love:

  • In-Person Programs at Partner Sites
    Until the new Senior Planet center is ready to host participants, we will be offering a wide range of classes at our various trusted partner sites in all five boroughs throughout the city. (The good news is that some of our partner sites might be located in your neighborhood, just a short walk or ride away!)
  • Pop-Up Events and Classes
    While construction wraps up, we will also be hosting a series of in-person pop-up events at locations around the city. Current programs include tech lectures at the AARP NY offices!
  • NYC Group on Senior Planet Community

  • Senior Planet’s National Virtual Programs
    Online classes continue six days a week here on seniorplanet.org!

When our new space is fully ready, we’ll be hosting an opening party to celebrate this new chapter of Senior Planet in NYC! Stay tuned to our website and check our newsletter for your invitation.
