The newest addition to the roster of holiday events has no calories and doesn’t require fighting crowds in stores…and makes your community a better place.

#GivingTuesday, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), comes on November 27 this year. It is a counterweight to the commercialization and consumerism that engulfs us after Thanksgiving.  This global day of charity and volunteerism uses the power of technology and social media to encourage people all over the world to contribute time or money (or both!) to hundreds of worthy nonprofit causes.  Last year, some $274 million (and countless hours) were generated for  thousands of local and national causes.
