Join us to celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day® (learn more here) during this special one-and-a-half hour session featuring this year’s Senior Planet Sponsored Athletes (learn more here).
National Senior Health & Fitness Day is an annual event to promote the importance of regular physical activity for older adults. During this session, you’ll hear how Senior Planet’s Sponsored Athletes stay active and overcome some of the challenges they face. You’ll also have a chance to try out their favorite fitness activities!
Feel free to hop on at the beginning and stay for the entire session or join at the time of the activity that interests you most.
Opening Presentation: Panel discussion with the Sponsored Athletes.
Grooving to the Oldies: Get your heart rate up while moving to the sounds of the fifties and sixties with Sally! This low-impact aerobics warm-up will get you ready for the rest of the Fitness Day session.
Hula Hooping for Health: Dust off your hula hoop and take it for a spin around your waist. Get a little inspiration from MsFAITH! as she demonstrates a few fun exercises using the hoop.
Hit the Floor: Grab your mat and hit the floor with 68-year-old hockey player, Paul. Learn some of his favorite moves to stay strong and avoid injury on and off the ice.
Wrap up: Cool down as each Sponsored Athlete shares their favorite stretch, followed by brief closing remarks.
