This week’s topic: Self-Image Changes Through Awareness
We make choices in our daily lives based on our Self-Image. When our Self-Image changes, our age-old habits and patterns can change, opening up new possibilities and potentials for life. Awareness is the golden key to this process of revelation. Join Senior Planet Fitness Trainer Naoko Maeshiba for a short discussion about how Self-Image is formed and how it changes, followed by a 30-minute Awareness Through Movement lesson and Q & A.
Originally from Kobe, Japan, Naoko Maeshiba is a Feldenkrais practitioner, a posture balance educator, an energy worker, and a performer. She has been teaching at Senior Planet since 2019. Coming from decades of somatic practice and performing arts background, she has been researching how our perception is formed by the interconnection of physiology, psychology, language, and space. Naoko runs Live True Nature Studio, offering holistic healing sessions to her students in the US, Japan, and Europe. She is a member of Somatic Practitioner Network and a professor emerita in Theatre Arts at Towson University. Her current passion is eyes and vision, ukulele and Sanshin (Okinawan string instrument), singing, and indigo dyeing.
