(Every Thursday Until October 31) The Battery Conservancy (learn about them here) offers free tours of one of New York’s oldest and most historically significant areas. Learn about the park’s rich history, see many important (and stirring) landmarks and monuments, and enjoy some 195,000 square feet of beautiful perennial gardens designed by renowned Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf. Wear your walking shoes for this one hour tour; arrive early because things start promptly at 1PM.
RSVP is required; do it here.
Meet at 12:50 p.m. at the Netherland Memorial Flagpole located at the entrance to the park near the intersection of Broadway, Battery Place, and State street. It is across State Street from Bowling Green.
