(Until February 23) This little known jewel box of a building hearkens back to a time when private clubs and affinity groups could build exquisite small buildings to further their obsessions. Here, the Grolier Club, dedicated to all the book and publishing arts, pays tribute to two major poets with unique material of their lives and works never before seen. “Two American Poets: Wallace Stevens and William Carlos Williams” from the collection of Alan Klein, throws a light on their development as poets, and the progress of American modernism in some 250 items. Lovers of poetry and New York City (where they met) will get a rare glimpse of two towering icons in modern American poetry.
