Presented by a guest speaker from Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum (Senior Planet Colorado’s neighbor). Attend this session to learn about the main historical periods and events of Lowry AFB from it’s origin in 1922 to closure in 1994.  Lowry started as a National Guard Air Field on what is today’s Park Hill Golf Course and moved to the current location of Lowry in 1937.  We will learn the construction phase, WW2 support, the Eisenhower years, the Air Force Academy and more, culminating with base closure after 57 years of operation.
