Description

Closing on July 28, this exhibit of African-American artist and activist Augusta Savage (1892–1962) is a tribute to her talent and grit, triumphing over poverty, racism, and sexism to become one of America’s most influential 20th-century artists. Her sculptures celebrate African American culture and some 50 works of her art and ephemera bring to life her artistic vision and her impact on her students and her community.
