Description

(Until February 4, 2020) Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, nicknamed Guercino (“Squinty”) was a leader in the Italian Baroque, with a flair for dramatic scenes with dynamic movement,  a natural virtuoso who created brilliant drawings in a broad range of media. The Morgan owns more than twenty-five works by the artist and these are supplemented by loans from public and private collection.
