Description

Join us during Digital Inclusion Week (Oct. 3-7) for a special event at the Senior Planet center in Chelsea! Registration is required. Please fill out the form below.

Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP will be releasing the “Fly Like an Eagle: Measuring Transformational Social Outcomes Among Seniors Using Technology” report which details how access to technology devices and innovative training programs can yield transformational social outcomes for older adults. The findings in the report are based on Connected NYCHA, an emergency initiative that connected older adults living in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residences to technology and training support at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will begin at 10:00am with remarks from Tom Kamber, Executive Director of OATS from AARP, and Tiffany Benjamin, Humana Foundation CEO, followed by testimonials from participants in the Connected NYCHA program.

Afterwards, we invite you to participate in an offering of Senior Planet’s “Affordable Home Internet” lecture from 10:30am – 11:30am. This lecture goes over basic information you need to know when signing up for home internet service. You’ll also learn about the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a permanent, government program that helps qualifying low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices.

Bagels and refreshments will also be provided! Registration is required to attend. Please fill out the form below:
