Exhibit: The Dinner Party

This iconic feminist work by artist Judy Chicago is only visible on weekends (due to some renovations), until January 24. This huge work consists of a massive ceremonial banquet table for some 39 important women in history, with place settings, embroidered runners and utensils, features stylized motifs based on vulvar and butterfly forms. (The names of 999 other important women are also part of this work). This permanent installation is enhanced by rotating Herstory Gallery exhibitions relating to the 1,038 women honored at the table.
