Exhibit: Garry Winogrand: Color
Date & Time
The Brooklyn Museum
200 Eastern Parkway
New York, NY Brooklyn
(Ends December 8). Garry Winogrand: Color focuses, for the first time, on the color photos of a noted black and white photographer. Bronx-born Garry Winogrand (1928–1984) became one of the 20th century’s standout photographers, using his “snapshot aesthetic” to capture private moments. He produced more than 45,000 color slides in the 50’s and ’60’s; this show offers large-scale projections of some 400 rarely or never-before seen color photographs that capture the social and physical landscape of New York City and the United States.
