Cooking Club – Lunch & Learn

Join this Supporter-led program to learn how to make crepes! Senior Planet Supporter Alberta Husch will demonstrate how to make three different crepes. See the ingredients below to cook along with Alberta. Don’t like the ingredients? Make all the substitutions you want, just share with the group what changes to make. We can’t wait to see your finished dish!

Basic Crepe Batter

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs

½ cup whole milk* (*If using low-fat milk, use 1 cup milk and NO water)

½ cup water

¼ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Chicken spinach and mushroom crepes

1/4 cup butter, cubed

1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

Fresh spinach or 10 oz pkg frozen, cooked

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup sour cream

3 tablespoons sherry or chicken broth

2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken

2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley, divided

Prepared crepes

Additional sour cream, optional

Dessert Crepes

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoons salt

1 cup milk (preferably whole)

2 eggs

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon melted butter, plus more for cooking crepes

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
