DigiDame: A Rant Every Older Person Should Watch

superhero-senior

This is an ongoing series of posts on digital life and culture from DigiDame, aka Lois Whitman-Hess.

“This video is made for one reason: I want it to be the calling card, the seed, of the explosion of the 40- to 80-year-old entrepreneur in our society.”

Forty-year old Gary Vaynerchuk, one of the most successful entrepreneurs and investors in the digital world, says it’s time for seniors to become big-time inventors and creators on the internet. He wants to get rid of the notion that only millennials can make millions by inventing new concepts using the smartphone and other mobile devices.

I really encourage everyone reading this to watch his six-minute video. It’s the first time in many years that I’ve heard any successful younger person say that the work experience of older people can help us create products and services that are truly needed and unique. Bless you Gary.

Gary’s message is not just about seniors who want to work. It’s about not allowing those over 60 to think we’re too old. He feels we are in an ageless society where everyone should be able to contribute their talents forever.

Let’s hope Gary continues to push his message in his live speeches, videos, seminars, books and all of his networking activities.

  1. I couldn’t agree more. My father is 81 and still owns and runs his small manufacturing company making physical therapy equipment. His philosophy is that work is a privilege and he can and wants to continue to contribute to the world which also keeps him vital! He is a man who’s had an extremely challenging life but has a true zest and zeal for life.!

He and my mother have taught me everything!
