Getting to know your neighbors might not seem as easy as it used to be, but technology can help! Nextdoor is an app that connects people from nearby neighborhoods so they can communicate and build real-world connections. This presentation will introduce you to the most common uses for the app, its main features, along with some best practices for using it safely. From asking for recommendations, to finding out about local events or important news, Nextdoor can help you stay in the know in your neighborhood!

With a background in communications, Johnny worked in television production and print journalism fields until he made “the best career change” to become a Technology Trainer for Senior Planet in 2019. A retired musician of 30+ years, Johnny is also passionate about music and feels that drumming has kept him young at heart and healthy all around. Johnny combines his passions for technology education and music at Senior Planet. You can find him teaching Drum Circle and many technology lectures and demos online!
