Bulletin Board: Take part in a survey

From time to time, Senior Planet receives requests from casting agencies, research groups and others looking for help in finding seniors to participate in paid or unpaid projects of various kinds. In our occasional Bulletin Board feature, we pass along any that look worth following up. (We have been in contact with each company that contacts us, but we haven’t fully vetted these opportunities; use the contact information provided at the end of each entry to draw your own conclusions.)

HITLAB (Healthcare Innovation Technology Lab), an independent research group near the Columbia University Medical Campus, is looking for five people 65+ who live independently, without a partner, to participate in a single-visit research interview to provide feedback on home-based health monitoring systems for senior adults. Individuals who are chosen to participate will receive $100 compensation for a 1 hour interview or focus group session.

How it works:

Call 917-349-2528 for a brief pre-screening interview; the interviewer will tell you if you qualify. The survey and interview will be scheduled at that time either at HITLAB’s offices at 3960 Broadway near W. 166th St. or at a more convenient location if you can suggest one; Skype or Facetime interviews are also possible. All data you provide will be anonymized and reported in aggregate. Seniors taking part in the in-person survey/interviews will receive a $100 Visa gift card at the end of the session; seniors using Facetime or Skype will have the gift card mailed to them.

Interested?

Seniors may apply for consideration until July 25, 2018. Survey interviews will be completed by July 27. Email homehealthmonitoring@hitlab.org for more information or call 917-349-2528.
