From time to time, Senior Planet receives requests from casting agencies, research groups and others looking for help in finding seniors to participate in paid or unpaid projects of various kinds. In our occasional Bulletin Board feature, we pass along any that look worth following up. (We have been in contact with each company that contacts us, but we haven’t fully vetted these opportunities; click on the links at the end of each entry to draw your own conclusions.)
Getty Images Stock Photography Portrait Project
A pair of professional, award-winning photographers have an open-ended casting call for a portrait project for Getty Images — and you might have just the face they want.
Getty, the leading provider of stock photography for online and other media, wants real faces of men and women from 50-100, all ethnicities; grey hair is preferred. If you are comfortable in front of a camera and can take direction, you might want to consider giving this a try. You can check out the photographers’ website here.
How it works
Email a photo of yourself from the waist up; your face must be clearly seen. Email it to email@example.com; they will contact you if they want to do a brief shoot with you in their studio on West 28th Street. (They will keep casting until they get the people they need, so ASAP is better than waiting.) There is no payment for the casting shoot. If Getty chooses you for the project, you’ll need to sign a release to participate and get $25 cash that day for a one hour shoot, plus your digital retouched images about three months later.
For consideration email a waist up photograph where your face can be clearly seen to firstname.lastname@example.org.
