From time to time, Senior Planet receives requests from casting agencies looking for help in finding senior subjects for film and television, as well as other requests for seniors to get involved in projects of various kinds. In our occasional Bulletin Board feature, we pass along any that look worth following up. (We’ve contacted the people involved but haven’t fully vetted these opportunities; click on the links at the end of each entry to draw your own conclusions.)
Casting New York-area tech neophytes ages 60-80 – men only!
Are you happiest using a flip phone? Do you consider yourself something of a novice when it comes to digital technology? If so, and you’re a New York City-based senior man or are willing to travel, a major TV production company is interested in hearing from you.
The production company is looking for people to participate in an unscripted multigenerational social experiment featuring old and new tech. The experiment will be filmed at a local studio on August 11 and 12 for a reel for a major TV network. The reel may be turned into a TV series.
The film features people in various age groups, from their 20s through their 70s, interacting with popular technology going back to the 1960s.
If you’re the neophyte they’re looking for, reach out to the casting team.
When: Filming August 11 and 12. Respond ASAP.
