Video of the Week: Digital Pioneer Grace Hopper
She’s known as the Queen of Software – Grace Hopper helped to program the first ever computer, invented programming languages and when she retired (involuntarily) as US Navy rear admiral at age 80, went to work full time as a senior consultant at the Digital Equipment Corporation, where she stayed until her death at age 85.
Hopper appeared on David Letterman’s show soon after her retirement from the navy.

Hi There
I found your blog while I was reaching topics on women in science and engineering.
I was wondering how you felt about featuring a comic about Grace Hopper?
It’s a fun and easily digestible comic that spreads the word about Grace’s awesomeness.
The aim is to inspire more young women to pursue careers in Computer Science and I think it would be a great fit for your audience.
Let me know what you think.
