I had a hard time following this part of the story.I skipped ahead to see if it would hold my interest more but unfortunately it didn’t.Hopefully the ending will be better.
Chapters 5-9 of The Roundhouse were not as satisfying for me as the earlier chapters had been. They did develop Joe’s character more deeply. A different Joe, with readiness to lose innocence ,is determined to see Sonja’s strip tease and threatened her. This is a black mark on his character that even he recognizes later. But, there were so many stories in these chapters like the strong mother and the buffalo mother. Their meaning is lost to me. The reveal of Linden (sp) as the rapist was expected, but even I felt the frustration the characters felt when he was released. Now, I want to see how justice will be delivered.
