When will you announce your January book or all of 2025 if you have it planned that far out?
Thank you!
Hi Sheila! Our January book is The Yellow House by Sarah M. Broom. Click here to see the poll results. We haven’t finalized the book selections for the rest of 2025 yet. However, in January, we’ll post a poll for the books we’ll read in February and March. If you have any suggestions, feel free to share them!
Summary of Part 2 (Chapters 5-8):
In Part 2 of “Our Missing Hearts” (Chapters 5-8), Bird continues his journey of discovery about his mother, Margaret, and her role in the more significant resistance movement. During this section, Bird learns more about how the government’s Preserving American Culture Act (PACT) has eroded civil liberties, especially for Asian Americans, who are scapegoated as threats to American stability.
I had a hard time in the beginning. Thought it was a little slow and not so exciting but now I’m into it and enjoying it much more. I am listening to it so I have had a hard time remembering who is who but I have it down now.
Ditto to Sharon’s comment. Enjoying Bird’s narrative, & the general story.
I’m enjoying this book much more than I thought I would so far. I am only finishing Part 1 right now. Wondering how the story will end…
