Meet the “Granfluencers”
In the digital arena where celebrities like the Kardashians or Taylor Swift often take center stage, people aged 60+ can appear invisible. However, a dynamic group of senior influencers – some call them ‘granfluencers” – is proving that style, humor, and relevance do not fade with age.
Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are buzzing with the dynamic energy of older adult voices who redefined and inspired audiences with their authenticity and charisma.
Senior Planet identified a few popular social media pages with impressive followings, transforming the landscape of online influence, proving impassioned content engages audiences of all ages.
Irvin Randle – @irvinrandle @silverfoxsquad
Meet Irvin Randle, affectionately known as “Mr. Steal Your Grandma.” Now 63, this inspiring second-grade math teacher and founder of Irvin Randle Shoes is a regular on the Fashion Week runways in LA, NY, and Atlanta. Recognized as a major influencer by AARP Magazine in 2019 and one of the top granfluencers by Access Hollywood in 2021, Irvin proves that age is just a number.

Randle also created The Silver Fox Squad, a group of distinguished older men with grey beards dedicated to promoting healthy aging through fitness and mindset. Sorry ladies, Irvin is happily married to his wife of over 40 years, showing that love and style know no age!
Lili Hayes – @lili_hayes
If the “borscht belt” were a social media account, it would mirror Lili Hayes’ feed. Equal parts Jewish matriarch and humorist, Hayes brings refreshing posts and images with an original voice that does not disappoint. Her Instagram account, which amassed over one million followers, is an amusing collaboration between Hayes and her son Kevin. Her signature style includes innocently confusing words such as seltzer for selfies and Carlos & Bernie for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
Joan MacDonald – @trainwithjoan
At 79, Joan MacDonald is a vibrant fitness influencer who transformed her health and body in her sixties. Once dependent on medication and struggling with balance and mobility, she had an inner call-to-action and transformed her life with help from her daughter, a fitness coach. With over one million Instagram followers, Joan shares fitness and workout information, healthy recipes, and motivational posts.
Take a look at her story here.
Her journey serves as an inspiring reminder that age is merely a number; what truly matters is one’s attitude in life. Joan inspires both older and younger fans, proving it’s never too late to start living a healthier life now!
Retirement House – @retirementhouse
Retirement House is a popular social media page with over two million followers that features a group of senior actors, ranging in age from 70 to 85, who create content in a comedic, often parody-like, style reminiscent of a content house full of young influencers. The account is known for its scripted sketches, participation in viral trends, and humorous takes on dating advice and other everyday situations.

Stanley Tucci – @StanleyTucci
People may know Stanley Tucci as an award-winning character actor. Yet, at 64, Tucci gained over 737K Facebook followers and social media prominence through engaging storytelling on cooking, traveling, and other topics. His passionate expertise in Italian culture and cuisine led to a YouTube series on Rolling Stone magazine’s channel, Cards on the Table, in which he breaks bread with a diverse group of dinner guests to converse and connect on a broad range of topics.
Granfluencers Rule!
In a scroll-happy world obsessed with filters and forever-21 vibes, these granfluencers are flipping the script—one post at a time. They’re not just keeping up with the trends; they’re setting them. With every dance, recipe, outfit, or rep at the gym, they remind us that aging isn’t about fading into the background—it’s about stepping into the spotlight and aging with attitude.
Influence doesn’t come with an expiration date, and these icons are living proof that the best content often comes with a side of wisdom, wit, and a lifetime of unapologetic confidence.

I am 90 years old. I have been blogging daily since 2009. Two of my blogs have now over a million page views. I do not consider myself a Granfluencer. But my daughter think I am. I enjoyed reading this article.
I love it! I’m 63 and my Facebook page (BrendaTorrey Photography) had a reach of 2.2M last month. It’s so surprising and cool to me have that many people interested in what I’m doing.
So cool. Though I’m not an actual gran, we have a grand time on my fb page Dear Helen Hartman abd having just been confirmed a ADHD, have started sharing YouTube shorts as The Feral Neurodivergent Elder.
Wouldn’t minus a year from my current age 65- for anything. I’ll be checking out this wisdom group of social media posters ASAP. Refreshing to see such diversity , depth and courage in
social media vs FOMO type a fandom.
