Aging Rewired Podcast’s New Season
A founding member of an all-women motorcycle club. An end-of-life doula. A lead accessibility engineer at Meta. These are just some of the fascinating guests who will be featured in the brand-new season of Aging Rewired, which premieres on March 12!
Aging Rewired is a podcast by Senior Planet from AARP, all about the intersection of aging and technology. In every episode, we focus on a different pressing topic, interview experts, and highlight the stories of real older adults as they navigate an increasingly digital world.
Exciting Guests and Topics!
In our first episode of the season, we’re looking at an issue that affects everyone, no matter where you live: transportation. First, we do a deep dive on why access to reliable and affordable transportation is a vital need for older adults with Katherine Freund, President & CEO of ITNAmerica.
Then we discuss the possibility of driverless cars as a solution for older American’s transportation issues with Princeton Professor Alain Kornhauser. And finally, we talk with Cheryl Stewart, a founding member of the all-women’s Sirens Motorcycle Club, about how motorcycles can be used to both empower people and serve communities.
But that’s not all! We have a whole slate of exciting new episodes coming your way. Every two weeks we’re dropping new episodes with topics including…
- AI and Accessibility. We talk with one of Meta’s lead accessibility engineers about how artificial intelligence can be used to help older adults in their day-to-day lives.
- Preparing for end of life. We bring Bre Clark, an end of life doula, onto the podcast to talk about how older adults are gathering online to create spaces where they can have safe, frank, and thoughtful conversations .
- Environmental activism. Older adults are building community by making the world a greener place for future generations. One such senior, Sokie Lee, the founder of NYC Clean Volunteers, shares why her favorite thing to do is pick up other people’s trash.
- Intergenerational Connection. Stories that show the benefits of intergenerational connections and advise listeners on how to make those connections themselves.
- And more!
