Aging with Attitude – and Gratitude

Norma (age 71) and Art Menard (age 73) are a 47-year married couple with a passion for education and community-building – and they are pioneers!

They are two of the very first people to take part in the Senior Planet Licensing Program. Senior Planet’s licensing structure works with community-based organizations to develop local trainers to deliver Senior Planet’s proprietary curriculum and bring Senior Planet’s world-class programs to older adults in their locales. The program is open to public, private, and 501(c)3 organizations that serve older adults.

Sold on the Licensing Program

After participating in Senior Planet classes themselves, Norma and Art decided to bring free Senior Planet programs to older adults in their community in Mooers, New York.

Watch as Tom Kamber, Executive Director, OATS from AARP, explains the Senior Planet Licensing Program and Norma and Art describe their decision to bring free Senior Planet programs to older adults in their community:

They discuss their own teaching journeys, how technology training can help older adults become a part of the digital culture, and why bringing the licensing program to their community has been so rewarding.

“My hope is that they’re going to use technology to improve their lives.”- Norma Menard

  1. I’m a resident of Orange County, New York, I’d like to know the nearest location for Senior Planet Community because I’m interested in some of the courses being offered. Though 70+ and retired,I am willing and able to return work ,however I need to acquire some refresher training in order to fit in to the digital community.
