If You Tweeted, What Would You Tweet the Prez?

According to the latest stats, most seniors don’t tweet. But even if you’re among the Twitter-shy, you probably know about one senior who uses the social media platform to speak his mind. Yes, that would be the current President of the United States, whose Twitter handle @RealDonaldTrump is the source of of almost daily news headlines.

Donald Trump uses Twitter as a bullhorn to talk about—well, a number of topics, among them topics that directly impact older people. These include cuts to programs that support senior services, along with Republican proposals to “Repeal & Replace” Obamacare that include cuts to Medicaid and a steep increase in premiums for those nearing age 65.

Since most people who might feel the pain of these policies aren’t tweeting back, the New York nonprofit website City Limits decided to give local seniors a chance to chime in IRL (in real life).

Here’s what they said:

In 140 characters or less, what would you tweet the Prez about the budget or healthcare overhaul? Let us know in the comments section, and we’ll tweet it for you.

  1. Get A Life! You need to get more sleep , maybe take some kind of sleep aid, and stop tweeting in the dead of night when no one can
think sensibly anyway. Practice the Golden Rule!!

  2. Start representing ALL of us . Then you won’t have to pretend we all really support you. We actually would. We are all just waiting on you to give us a reason.
