WATCH: 90-Year-Old Holocaust Survivor’s Message to Young People

About a month ago, a user of the immensely popular social news and entertainment site Reddit posted a “selfie” that his 90-year-old grandfather had taken of himself working out at the gym. The user, “Donutdude,” mentioned that his grandfather was a Holocaust survivor; the Reddit community asked if Donutdude’s granddad would participate in the site’s Ask Me Anything section.

What followed was a remarkable discussion in which users asked Emery Jacoby about his wartime experiences and commented on the responses. Some of the commenters were young Germans, and their responses moved Jacoby to record a YouTube video message for young people everywhere. It’s a remarkable video – optimistic, gracious, forward looking; everything that “aging with attitude” should be.
