On the Ground
The Senior Planet Exploration Center, the country’s first technology-themed center for over-60s, opened in January 2013 in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. The center hosts classes, workshops, programs, lectures and special events, offering older New Yorkers a comfortable space to learn, work and explore new ways to thrive in today’s digital world.
The Exploration Center provides opportunities to learn about technology, attend social and cultural events, and engage in individual and group projects that use technology to enhance health, finances, social connections and lifelong learning.

A Project of OATS
Senior Planet is a project of Older Adults Technology Services, a New York-based nonprofit that since 2004 has engaged, trained and supported older adults in using technology to improve their quality of life and enhance their social and civic engagement. OATS also operates more than 20 technology labs for seniors throughout NYC.
By providing seniors with engaging, positive opportunities on the web and the skills to access those experiences, Senior Planet supports the OATS mission to use technology as a vehicle for improving the lives of older adults.
